On Wednesday, June 24
, Jo and Nick Lembo, of Shared Hope International will have slides and show a trailer of the documentary Chosen, which is a gripping true story about DMST. They will discuss who it happens to, including US-born kids; how it happens through a deceptive, manipulative relationship; where it happens; and why it happens. Briana’s story in Chosen is poignant in that she was a straight A student, cheerleader, athlete and from an upper middle class two-parent family, which breaks all the stereotypes that it only happens to runaways, trouble makers, foster kids, drug-addicted kids. But Briana was vulnerable, simply because she didn’t know about trafficking.

A survivor of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) will share her story, and a panel discussion including law enforcement will follow.

Jo and Nick Lembo WHEN: June 24, 2015

TIME: 7:00 pm

LOCATION: San Juan Community Theatre, 100 Second Street, Friday Harbor

ADMISSION: This event is open to the public and free of charge

There will be a second showing on Thursday, June 25 on Orcas Island at 7:00 pm, location to be determined.
