Community Projects

Soroptimist of Friday Harbor helps to support the community through scholarships, awards, financial gifts and ongoing support to community projects.

The Cancer Mission Treatment Project was created in partnership with the San Juan Eagles with a grant from Soroptimist of the Americas. This invaluable program provides ferry tickets and air transportation to the mainland for cancer treatment for San Juan islanders.

Our Family Emergency Fund is available with emergency assistance for families in need.

Our High School Scholarships are an ongoing annual project.

The Womens’ Opportunity Award and Violet Richardson Award honor San Juan Island women and girls who are making a difference in the world.
