Soroptimist's 3rd Annual Fiesta Dinner and Bowl-A-Thon
 At the 3rd Annual Cinco-De-Mayo Bowl-a-thon fundraiser, the Soroptimists and the Paradise Lanes Bowlers raised over $16,300! After a few expenses all the proceeds go directly to the Cancer Treatment Support Mission. 48 bowlers collected sponsor money from over 362 islanders. The bowlers with the highest sponsor dollars are Ruth Ploghoft ($ 4,050), Gina Sandwith ($2825 and rising) and Gloria Ball ($485). 90 Fiesta dinners were served by Jimmy’s Paradise Café. This well attended and successful event was enjoyed by all. Special thanks to the Bowlers who were just awesome in their fundraising efforts. Also, a warm thank you to all the businesses that contributed services and items for the raffle sales and prizes.
This event helps to fund the Soroptimists Cancer Treatment Support Mission which purchases ferry tickets for San Juan Island cancer patients for travel to the mainland for treatments. Last year over $8,400 in ferry tickets were used.
